Able and Thriving recently celebrated their first anniversary as a social group for those with physical and mental disabilities.
Deric Kimrey and Barbie Knight, who work at Laclede Industries, the county’s sheltered workshop employment agency, founded the group in November 2024, with the latter saying the group is meant to promote social connection among those with disabilities.
The group plays games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, a roleplaying game, and meets in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4107, located at 1617 Lynn Street in Lebanon.
