Preview: Christmas tree farming is year-round, says farmer

Posted

Taking care of Christmas trees does not end after Christmas at Cole’s Tree Farm, according to farmer Seth Huntley.

Huntley’s family runs the farm, located at 23100 State Highway OO, and he spends around four hours a day, seven days a week working on the property in addition to his other jobs. After the close of a season that he guessed at the time of Friday’s interview sold around 2,000 trees, that work continued.

“I think it’s just important to know that it’s an all year thing,” Huntley said. “A lot of people come out here just for the winter, and they only see the winter season, but they don’t realize it’s a lot of like behind the scenes to keep it up the way it is.”
