Lebanon Police report that no credible threat was found after a bomb threat at Lebanon High School this morning. At approximately 10:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to Lebanon High School for a reported bomb threat. According to a City of Lebanon press release, "Out of an abundance of caution, students were relocated to an alternate site while officers conducted a thorough search of the campus. Bomb-detection K-9 units from partner agencies also swept the building and surrounding parking areas. No credible threat was found." "Safety always remains the highest priority in situations like this," said Police Chief Jerry Harrison in the press release "I want to thank the students, parents, and school staff for their cooperation throughout this incident." In the release, Chief Harrison credited both the law enforcement community and Lebanon R-3 School District for their coordinated response. "The school district did exactly what they needed to do on their end, and our law enforcement partners did the same on ours," Harrison said. He recognized partner agencies including Lebanon Fire Department, Mercy EMS, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Laclede County Sheriff's Office, Laclede County Office of Emergency Management, Missouri State Capitol Police, Fort Leonard Wood Military Police, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the bomb squad. Because this is an active investigation, Harrison said the department is limited in the details it can release at this time. Investigators are actively working to identify the source of this threat and will hold those responsible accountable. "We also appreciate the patience and understanding of our community today," Harrison said.
