Pearl Mary Kissinger, 106, of Richland, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2020, in Richland.

She was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Conrath, Wis. to Clarence and Elizabeth Holetz Weed.

On May 8, 1933, she married Howard Kissinger, and on April 17, 1950, she married Edward Kissinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Howard Kissinger in 1938 and Edward Kissinger in 1966; two brothers, Edward Weed and Bud Weed; one sister, Alberta Starrett; two step-brothers, Leslie and Vernon; and two step-sisters, Irene and Leah.

Pearl worked at Fort Leonard Wood Laundry and as a cook at Swedeborg School for a period of time. Pearl was also the Postmaster at Swedeborg from Aug. 1, 1948, until her retirement on June 20, 1975. She enjoyed tending to her garden and sharing vegetables with family and friends. She also enjoyed board games.

She was baptized at an early age and at the time of her passing, had been a longtime member of Swedeborg Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jenell Shelton and her husband Merlyn of Richland; one son, Arlin Howard Kissinger of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Fay Weed of Poulsbo, Wash.; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Pearl Mary Kissinger will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at Swedeborg Christian Church with Bill Towns officiating. Burial will be in St. John-Swede Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. There will be a visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until service time, also on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Swedeborg Christian Church. To sign the guestbook online visit shadelscolonialchapel.com.
