Paul “Dennis’’ Hill, 73, of Fordland, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in Springfield.
He was born March 7, 1951, to Ferrell Edmand and Bonnie Lee (Nutter) Hill.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and two brothers, Jackie and Archie Hill.
Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served our country for nearly thirty years, until his retirement. He was a talented musician and could play any instrument he could get his hands on. He especially loved bluegrass music. He was a farmer and was meticulous about his vegetable and flower gardens. He loved to cook. In fact he was also a chef in the Navy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well. He never sat idle, constantly busy working on something. His most treasured moments were those spent with family and friends.
Dennis is survived by two children, Christina Sheriff and her husband Clinton of Lebanon, and Dennis Dwayne Hill of Kansas City, one sister, Judy Wolken of Fordland; two grandsons, Cameron Sheriff and his wife Morgan and Julian Sheriff; one great-granddaughter, Haddie Sheriff and one great-grandson, Finley Sheriff; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Paul “Dennis’’ Hill will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor David Douglas officiating. There will be a burial at Lebanon Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy. There is no scheduled visitation.
