PATROLMAN KENDLE GLEN BLACKBURN

Patrolman Kendle Glen Blackburn, 55, of Lebanon, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, in Columbia.

He was born Sept. 22, 1965, in Lebanon, Mo. to Raymond Glen and Irene Esther Glendenning Blackburn.

On June 27, 1987, he married Debbie Sue Appleberry.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandparents.

Kendle graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1983. After graduation, he was employed at Consumers, The Durham Company, Lowe Boats and was with security at Copeland. He started a career in law enforcement in the late 90’s and had served with the Lebanon Police Department for many years. He also served as a deputy with the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office and a brief time with the Richland Police Department.

Kendle attended Ozark Bible Church, where he and Debbie served as youth leaders for a time.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Blackburn; three sons, Christopher Glen Blackburn and his wife Brittini of Marshfield; Jordan Alexander Blackburn and Austin Wayne Blackburn and his wife Nicole, all of Lebanon; his parents, Raymond and Irene Blackburn of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Kooper, Karson, Sadie, Willow and Daisy Blackburn; two brothers, Randy Blackburn and his wife Suzanne of Rogersville, and Kevin Blackburn and his wife Sonja of Lebanon; his father and mother-in-law, William and Pauline Appleberry of Plad; several other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Patrolman Kendle Glen Blackburn will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Bruce Doublin and Chief of Police Bryan Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

There is no scheduled visitation, however friends and family may pay their respects to Kendle by visiting Shadel’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, from noon until 5 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, from noon until 5 p.m. To sign the guestbook online please visit www.shadelscolonialchapel.com. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene. Kendle’s family ask that those attending his service or visiting the funeral home please wear masks. Those guidelines will be monitored during this time to accommodate the family and their wishes.
