Pam's Flowers to close after four decades in business

After four decades of providing the community with flowers to celebrate and mourn all manner of occasion, Pam’s Flowers is closing its doors on December 27. Owner Pam Daniels is satisfied with her work and excited to begin the next phase of her life. Daniels did not expect to become a florist. While working at the Breech Hospital as a nurse, Daniels met Pat Ivey, who made her a wreath as a thank you present. Later, when she sought new work, her former patient offered her work at her flower shop, first as a delivery woman and then as a florist. For more on this story, see Wednesday's LCR.
