Ozark Conference champs!

Posted

For the first time since 2012, the Lebanon High School football team captured a share of the Ozark Conference title.

After falling to Rolla in week 8, the Yellowjackets rebounded with a blowout win over the Parkview Vikings on Senior Night, 55-22.

“Our guys were dialed in all week at practice after that first loss of the year,” assistant coach Dalton Pierce said. “We had some adversity we needed to deal with. We played well and executed well.

“I thought the offensive line played great, and Peyton (Mitchell) is the straw who stirs the drink at quarterback. It is not a good thing when you are negative in the turnover category like we were last week. We were able to turn that around and took care of the football.”

With the win, Lebanon remained atop the conference standings with the West Plains Zizzers as both teams just have one conference loss apiece. Despite a head-to-head win over West Plains earlier this year, Lebanon will have to share the OC title with the Zizzers due to having the same overall record.
