Opal Darlene Carver, 78, of Elkland, died Sunday, June 7, 2021, at her home near Elkland.

She was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Horton, Kan. to the late Raymond Earl and Twila Maxine (Long) Hards .

Opal was married to Thomas J. Kane and to this union three children were born, Bernard, David, and Anna. She worked several different jobs during her life, but her favorite job was driving a school bus in Elkland and Excelsior Springs. She talked often about the activities and sporting events. Her other love was cooking for others and running her own Restaurant in Polo, Missouri. Opal later married the love of her life, Willard J. Carver, on February 16, 1985. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Carver; her parents; one granddaughter, Anna Lisa Kane; and one brother, Arthur Hards.

She is survived by her children, Bernard L. and wife Katrina Kane of Elkland; David J. and wife Diana Kane of Kansas City, Mo. and Anna D. Kane of the home; six stepchildren, Dan Carver of Florida; Cindy Limback of Warrensburg; Scott Carver, James Carver, Angie Thompson of Syracuse, Mo. and Daryn Carver of Hughesville, Mo.; her brothers, Gary and wife Marie Hards of Denison, Kan.; Bill and wife Linda Hards of Denison, Kan. and Ron and wife Carol Hards of Holton, Kan.; four grandchildren, Jason Overman and wife Kristy Kane, Angela and husband David Guess, Donna and husband Robert Smith, and Diana and husband Dustin Lally; 10 great-grandchildren, Anthoney, Samantha, Emmalee, Aubrey, Autumn, Colton, Chesney, Olivia, Kane, and Cole; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial for Opal Darlene Carver will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the Charity Christian Church Cemetery with Bro. Cliff Long officiating, under the direction of Canton-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
