One of two men originally charged in the death of David Arbogast III has pled guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Ashton M. Beyer pled guilty Monday to second-degree murder as well as armed criminal action, according to his most recent file on Casenet. A court document showed he was sentenced in total to 35 years of incarceration as well as paying court costs.
Beyer along with Malikai A. Salyers had been charged last summer with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Arbogast. Arbogast died June 24, 2025 from gunshot wounds in Phillipsburg, the Record had written then.
Salyers’ court case continues. According to his most recent Casenet filing, he still charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He has a jury trial set in May.
