The Laclede County Commission set April 14 as the public hearing date for three county road actions during its March 11 meeting in the Laclede County Government Center.
The commission is scheduled to hold public hearings before their decisions on the establishment of Jessica Lane as a county road, the abandonment of Galena Road as a county road, and the vacation of Kerby Road as a county road.
As Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler later explained, abandonment of a county road does not require a petition and is for a road that has no activity, while vacation happens with a somewhat active county road with some activity and requires a petition.
The County Commission also heard from MU Extension staff that morning and discussed decorations on the government center campus for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
