The Laclede County Commission approved the interim appointment of the public administrator, the county’s budget for this year, and a storage rental agreement at its Tuesday meeting.
The commission approved the appointment of interim public administrator Rebecka Woolley at their morning meeting, who will fill Annette Charles’s place. Charles had announced her resignation effective Feb. 2 during her office’s budget hearing with the county.
As previously written, there is a process for the governor to appoint a permanent replacement, and the public administrator role will be on the August and November election ballot.
Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler later said the swearing-in ceremony for Woolley was rescheduled to take place Tuesday, Feb. 3 in the Laclede County Government Center (courthouse).
The commission also approved the county’s budget for 2026.
The body also approved a one-year storage rental agreement with Serenity Storage for $7,200 (two units at $300 a month each).
