Officials speak to churches about COVID-19

Posted
Laclede County Health Department Administrator Charla Baker said churches should consider postponing nonessential social gatherings while the nation deals with the spread of COVID-19. Baker presented an update on the coronavirus to the community’s faith leaders at a meeting Tuesday night at LifePoint Church. “I know that is hard,” she said and noted that the only place she had felt at peace lately was church. “That is a place where a lot of us find our peace, but if you have congregation members who are ill, it is best that they not come.” She suggested people experience services through live streams or on Facebook online.
