There was no county commission meeting this week due to the holidays, and the next meeting, which will also be when commissioners-elect Erik Lindsey and Joe Wasmer are sworn in, will be Tuesday.
In a recap from last week, Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler noted that the commission held a discussion with the Lebanon-Laclede County Historical Society on artifact displays in the courthouse. She said that the discussion was ongoing.
The commission also discussed reinvestment in a Certificate of Deposit, furnace repairs in the Road and Bridge shop and 911 Center signage among other business. The commission also signed a service agreement with Veregy for heating and cooling.
Tuesday’s meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. as normal, break at 9:30 a.m. for the swearing in of new officeholders, and then the meeting will resume at 10:30 a.m.
As Cansler noted on December 3, despite the swearing-in that takes places in the morning, current commissioners hold office until midnight. The two outgoing commissioners are Western Commissioner Darrell Pollock and Eastern Commissioner David Layman.
Video postings of commission meetings to YouTube will resume next week. Agendas of county commission meetings as well as those of other public bodies are posted to the Laclede County Record’s website when the paper receives them.
