No kid should miss Christmas

About 200 kids spent Saturday shopping with law enforcement

Posted

Laclede County’s Shop with a Cop gave local youth in need the chance to have a merrier Christmas on Saturday.

A Laclede County tradition for more than 20 years, Shop with a Cop brings together local law enforcement and emergency services including Lebanon Police Department, Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, dispatchers and conservation agents to shop alongside local youth in need, who are in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.

Annually the event brings about 200 kids to Walmart with $150 to spend on their Christmas wish list. Last year, COVID-19 had an impact on in-person events that local law enforcement agencies use to fund the event, but this year saw some improvement.
