Narcan now available in vending machine at Police Station

A new tool to save the lives of drug overdose victims is now more available in Lebanon. A Narcan vending machine is open for use at the Lebanon Police Department, 401 S. Jefferson Avenue, Central Ozarks Medical Center announced Thursday. A Narcan machine is also now in place at The HUB, A COMC Community Center at 1371 C Bagnell Dam Blvd., Lake Ozark. These machines are two of four to be placed in counties that COMC serves and are available for free use by the public. Narcan is a medication approved to reverse an overdose from opioids and is given when a person is showing signs of opioid overdose to block the deadly effects of the overdose. DawnElyn Schneider, COMC Chief Network Development and Population Health Officer, said they intended to place the machines in four different counties. For more on this story, see Saturday's LCR.
