NANCY L. LINDESMITH

Nancy L. Lindesmith, 85, of Lebanon, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Lebanon.

She was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Bartlesville, Okla. to Stanley and Marguerite Chesser Templin.

On June 19, 1954, she married Ernest Eugene Lindesmith, and to this union three sons were born.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie, on June 12, 2015; and a sister, Jody Martin.

She was born and raised in Bartlesville, Okla. and graduated from high school there. Her family enjoyed spending the summers on Grand Lake. After she and Ernie were married, they made their home in various locations while Ernie served in the United States Air Force. In October of 1974, Ernie retired from the Air Force and the family moved to Lebanon. Nancy was a devoted homemaker, and had worked as a secretary in an insurance office, a cashier in a toy store, and a worker at the H.D. Lee Company.

Nancy joined the Catholic faith as a teenager in Oklahoma, and was very active in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon. She had served as President of the Springfield—Cape Girardeau Diocesan Council of Catholic Women from 1988-1990, and worked with the National Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Goozmer of Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, Mike Lindesmith of Springfield; Stan Lindesmith and his wife Lisa of Apex, N.C. and John Lindesmith of Osage Beach; eight grandchildren, Michell Rouse and her husband Nick, and Jeremy, Olivia, and Everest Lindesmith, and Glen, Aaron, William and Jeana Goozmer; two great-grandchildren, Easton Rouse, and Atticus Lindesmith; two nieces, Teri Benac and Kelly Hearon; a nephew, Kenny Martin, as well as a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral services for Nancy L. Lindesmith will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon with Father David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Memorials to Claws and Paws, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus have been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
