Nancy Ann Avey, 65, of Richland, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in Osage Beach.

She was born Sept. 19, 1956, in Buffalo, Mo. to Truman O. and Mabel Maggie (Montgomery) Haney.

On July 12 1975, she married Paul E. Rhoden and to this union one daughter, Amanda was born. On Oct. 9, 2014, she married Thomas Avey and together they made their home in Richland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Ronnie Haney, and one infant sister, Shirley.

Nancy was raised and attended school in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years. Nancy was a member of the VFW Post 3168 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Avey of the home; her daughter, Amanda Nimmo of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Kaylee and her husband Corey Caldwell and James Price; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Callum Caldwell; three sisters, Darlene Haney of Bolivar; Kay and her husband Robert Plummer of Lebanon, and Ruby Haney of Roby; one brother, Clifford Haney and one sister-in-law, Jennifer Avey of Rolla, and her children Clayton, Lilly, Paisley, and Izzy Beasley; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Steven, Clinton, Samantha, and Junior; other family members and many friends.

Funeral services for Nancy Ann Avey will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Burial will be in the Powell Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with the funeral costs.
