A young black bear has been seen multiple times roaming the streets of Lebanon this past week.
Lebanon Police said several people reported seeing the animal Tuesday night and Wednesday in different locations including downtown.
“We have had several reports about sightings in various locations, in fact,” LPD Public Information Officer Det. Sgt. Kacie Springer said. “The sightings started around 3:28 p.m. (Tuesday) in the area of Fourth and Madison streets,” she said.
Francis Skalicky, Missouri Department of Conservation media specialist for the region, said Friday that the bear had not been seen Thursday evening.
“We hope that means it has moved on to more remote, less urban territory,” he said.
