Missouri Library Association Award goes to Laura McHugh

Posted
Accomplished author and LHS graduate Laura McHugh won the 2023 Missouri Library Association award for her 2021 novel titled “What’s Done in Darkness.” The association’s selection subcommittee considered 20 books before choosing McHugh’s work. "McHugh's books have been a literary favorite of many a reader over the years and are always riveting," chair Debra Loguda-Summers said in a news release. She also won the Missouri Library Association’s award years ago for “The Weight of Blood” when they still called it the Missouri Author Award for Fiction. Regardless of the name, she is proud to win the award. For more on this story, see the LCR.
