Having already established their services in Lebanon, the Missouri Empowerment Project is now expanding its Creating a Village program to Laclede County families. The nonprofit will host an open house on January 24 at 2 p.m. in their Lebanon location to introduce families to the organization.
Established in 2019, the Missouri Empowerment Project operates in the southern Ozarks, says CEO and cofounder Karissa Coppedge. Having secured a Lebanon office in October and approval for expansion of its Regional Partnership Grant into Laclede County, Coppedge is looking forward to its future in the area.
According to the Empowerment Project’s website, the CAV program is a multiservice approach to meeting the needs of families that experience the Children’s Division involvement and substance abuse disorder.
“We work with families to prevent child abuse and neglect,” Coppedge said. “So, helping to keep kids in the home from entering foster care, and if they’re in foster care, we’re working with the families to get them home.”
