Mileen Stephens, 66, of Stoutland, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, in Stoutland.

She was born March 13, 1956, in Aberdeen, S.D. to Maclyn and Katherine Howe Bennett.

On Feb. 18, 1979, she married Nathan Brian Stephens.

Mileen graduated from Stoutland High School in the class of 1974. She continued her education by attending College of the Ozarks and later Southwest Missouri State (MSU) where she received a Master’s Degree in Education and School Counseling. Her teaching and counseling career took her to many school systems throughout the years, including Stoutland High School, Laquey, Iberia, Waynesville, Rolla and lastly Lebanon R-III Schools, where she retired as a school counselor.

She attended Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Stephens; three sons, Matthew Stephens and his wife Nichole of Lake Ozark, Mo.; Luke Stephens and his wife Amanda of Columbia, and Paul Stephens and his wife Stephanie of Stoutland; her mother, Katherine Bennett; her brother, Brian Bennett of Richland; her sister, Molly Nichols of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Kailey Kincheloe, Noah Stephens, Kiarra Stephens, Jeremiah Stephens, Isabelle Stephens, Isaac Stephens, Nathaniel Stephens, Eleanor Stephens and Shelby Stephens; other relatives; school family and many friends.

A memorial service for Mileen Stephens will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rick Morrow officiating. There is no scheduled burial. Her body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. also on Saturday, Oct. 29, until service time at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
