Mike Spanier, 66, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, in his home.
He was born May 21, 1956, in Kansas City to Bill and Dottie Spanier; who preceded him in death.
Mike married Karen Lawler.
He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout for which he was extremely proud, and was a member of the Columbia Elks, as well as a Mason. Mike made many lifelong friends over the years. The memories of time spent with them was very special to him. He loved the K.C. Chiefs and was a loyal fan. He enjoyed his retirement on his farm, either mowing his yard with headphones on while singing or on the tractor working in one of the pastures. Mike had a heart of gold.
Survivors include his wife Karen of the home; his son, Brett (Alexa) Spanier of Chicago, Ill. and daughter, Monica Spanier of Chicago, Ill.; his grandchildren, Madden and Sloane Spanier of Chicago, Ill.; his stepsons, Jason (Tammy) Lyday of Clarksville, Tenn.; Joey (Stina) Lyday of Kansas City; a brother, Steve Spanier, of Halfway; a sister, Cindy Franklin of Mound City, Kan.; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life for Mike Spanier will be held at a later date. His body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Sign guest book at www.shadelscolonialchapel.com.
