Michael Sternberg, 67, of Plato died Friday, June 30, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He is survived by his wife Candace Sternberg; his sons, Lt. Col. Retired Nicholas Sternberg of Wales; Chief Warrant Officer 4 Daniel Sternberg of Leavenworth, Kan. and Michael Sternberg II of Leavenworth, Kan.; his daughter, Samantha Sternberg of Plato; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold Sternberg and his wife Jeannine of Arkansas and Dennis Sternberg and his wife Mary of Arkansas; a sister, Patricia Greer and her husband Kenny of Lebanon. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lebanon with full military rites. Visitation will follow under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A memorial to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
