Michael Gene “Mike’’ Morriss, 54, of Waynesville, a retired Waynesville R-VI School District Elementary Principal, died Thursday, March 16, 2023, in his home.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Morriss of the home; parents, Erv and Susan Morriss of Waynesville; three children, Makayla Rincon (JuJuan) of Fort Bragg, N.C.; Jacob Morriss of Aiea, Hawaii, and Eric Morriss of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, JuJuan Rincon Jr., Enslee Rincon and Ava Rincon; one sister, Lindy McKinnion of Waynesville; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 25, 2023, in the Waypoint United Methodist Church of Waynesville. Burial will follow in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery of Waynesville, under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Saturday in the Waypoint United Methodist Church of Waynesville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike Morriss to the Waypoint United Methodist Church of Waynesville or the Waynesville High School Tiger Athletic Booster Club and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
