It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Melissa Kay Tubbs, who left this world at the age of 53 on November 27, 2024. Born on October 25, 1971, in Lebanon, Missouri, Melissa was the cherished daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth Mulligan. Her warm spirit and loving nature touched the lives of so many, and her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
Melissa married Robert Tubbs, and together they raised their beautiful daughter, Kaylen. As a devoted mother, she instilled values of compassion, kindness, and resilience in Kaylen, preparing her to take on the world with strength and grace. Melissa’s love extended beyond her immediate family; she embraced her stepchildren with open arms: Curtis Tubbs (married to Megan), Angie Merrill (married to Ryan), and Chris Tubbs, each of whom brought their own joys and successes into her life. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Elijah, Piper, Lizzy, Nicholas, Sophie, Allison, Kaden, Dave and Jackson —each a testament to her ennduring love.
Melissa’s professional life as a pharmacy technician was marked by her dedication and kindness, helping many in her community with a smile. Her gentle disposition made her a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert, their daughter, Kaylen, a beloved sister, Mindy Mulligan, and her nieces: Ashtin Bennett (married to Tony, with children Jaxon and Quinn), Macy, and Rikki Gromowsky. Melissa’s family also includes many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever treasure the moments they shared with her.
Melissa’s life was filled with love and laughter, and while we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that she has left an indelible mark on all of us. A memorial service will be determined, as she will be cremated per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made at First State Community Bank under the name “Missy Tubbs.” These contributions will be donated to Lane Change in honor of her sister, Cindy Mulligan, reflecting Melissa’s commitment to helping others.
Melissa Kay Tubbs will be missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue through the lives she touched.
