Mayor proposes plan to help customers pay utility bills

Mayor Jared Carr will be advancing a request to transfer $50,000 from City of Lebanon electric reserves to Missouri Ozarks Community Action Program, or MOCA, to help provide relief to qualifying customers during impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mayor is expected to bring the bill before the Lebanon City Council at the May 11 meeting. The program would help provide qualifying customers with a one-time electric bill payment assistance. MOCA is one of the area agencies that already helps community members in need. By allowing them to manage the funding, MOCA can use their screening mechanisms to ensure the funding benefits customers needing the most assistance.
