Master Sgt. Mike Mizer of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I reflects on 24 years in law enforcement

Posted

The field that Mike Mizer wanted to work in since he was a child turned out to be the one he decided to pursue: law enforcement.

A master sergeant in Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mizer just started his 24th year in law enforcement and has been in the Highway Patrol for 15 years. His dream law enforcement job was serving in the Highway Patrol. He has wanted to be in law enforcement since he was seven.

The excitement of a nice uniform and pursuing bad guys fueled his early inclination towards law enforcement.

“But then as you get older, it changes. You realize that, for me, it involves more hopefully helping somebody,” he said.
