Marvin Emmer Gan, son of Emmer T. and Dessie F. Gan was born January 31, 1941 and departed this life January 03, 2026 at his home in Richland, Missouri at the age of 84. He also has a place in Laquey where he lived most of his life.
A little while after graduating from Richland High School he went to work at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for the Army Air Force Exchange Service where he met a young woman who was a cashier there named Lalla LaVelle Pemberton.
On November 19, 1961, Marvin E. Gan was united in marriage with Lalla LaVelle (Pemberton) Gan and to this union was born one son, Marvin Joe Gan. Prior to LaVelle’s passing away on December 23, 2021, they shared sixty years together at Laquey.
Marvin worked at the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for many years then took an early out retirement from there. Then he worked for a while at a retail business that had a concession to sell on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Then on February 07, 1992, he started working at the Saint Robert Missouri Walmart where he was employed up until his death. So he had about 65 years of retail sales work.
In his free time, Marvin E. Gan enjoyed listening to music. He liked several kinds but mostly listened to country. He also liked collecting things. He had several collections and he would go everywhere around Missouri looking for things for his collections.
Marvin E. Gan is survived by one son, Marvin Joe Gan and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
He will be missed by many that knew him and greatly missed by those that love him.
Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., at Idumea Cemetery in Laquey, Missouri.
