Mark Alan Pitts, 58, of Lebanon, died Thursday, July 2, 2020, in Lebanon.
He was born June 1, 1962, in Lebanon, Mo. to Clifford Dwight and Alene Delories Townsend Pitts.
Mark married Toni Cook and was later married to Carol Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Jones Pitts on Feb. 21, 2001.
Mark graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1981. He was employed with several funeral homes, including Colonial Funeral Chapel and funeral homes in Dixon. However, his love was being a sound technician and he worked with many festivals setting up sound for Southern Gospel and Bluegrass groups and for many Old Country classic artists. He worked closely with his wife Carol who sang with Bill Jones & The Bluegrass Travelers.
He was a member of Highland Park Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip Pitts and his wife Casey of Lebanon and Michael Pitts of Springfield; his parents, Clifford and Alene Pitts of Lebanon; one grandson, Chase Hale and a grandson on the way, Carsen Andrew Pitts; other relatives and many dear friends.
A graveside service and burial for Mark Alan Pitts will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Lebanon Cemetery with Gary Robinson and Dors Wilson officiating, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel prior to the graveside service at 11:30 a.m. To sign the guestbook online visit shadelscolonialchapel.com. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene.
