MARIETTA BUTTRAM

Posted

Marietta Buttram was born October 9, 1948 in Lebanon, to Carl H. Jones and Vernita Snow. She passed into eternal rest in her home on Sunday, October 8, 2023, just one day shy of her seventy-fifth birthday.

She grew up in Lebanon and was a 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School. Following graduation she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Darrell D. Buttram. They shared over thirty-eight years of wonderful memories before he passed away January 3, 2003.

In addition to her husband Darrell, Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Vernita; an infant daughter, Tamara; one brother, Johnny Jones; and one grandson, Spencer.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery Buttram and his wife, Sheryl of Willard, and two grandchildren, Chance Buttram and Tristen Buttram of Willard.

Marietta was a homemaker throughout her life. In 2003, she professed her faith and trust in Jesus and her family is comforted to know she is fully healed and is now with Jesus.

She had a love for animals and enjoyed beautiful flowers. Most of all, she loved her family and the times they could be together. Marietta was a kind and caring woman and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Jeff, Sheryl and the boys would like to publicly thank Barbara Weddle, Marietta’s cousin, and her family for looking after her the last three years since moving back to the farm. In lieu of flowers, the Buttram family is asking for donations to be made to Champion Athletes of the Ozarks in Springfield. This was her grandson Spencer’s favorite organization that supports those with developmental disabilities thru sports, education and life skills. Championathletes.org

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at McBride Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
