A Lebanon man faces a child abuse charge after turning himself in for allegedly shoving a child’s head into a wall. Samuel David Espada, 33, has been charged with abuse or neglect of a child, a class D felony for allegedly assaulting a child who is less than 5 years old. Espada is currently being held in the Laclede County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 cash-or-surety bond, according to court records. Espada has pleaded not guilty to the crime. On Nov. 25, the court approved a reduction of his bond to $5,000 from the original $10,000, court records indicate. He is next set to be in court on Dec. 30.
