Jennifer Janko, the school resource officer at Lebanon Middle School, Maplecrest and Boswell schools, says she enjoys making a difference in the lives of students.
Janko has served as a school resource officer for four years, and she has been an officer with the Lebanon Police Department since 2015.
“My job here, the number one thing, is to ensure the safety and security of staff and students and visitors on the property,” she said. “If there are any law violations I investigate those, any crashes in the parking lot, that type of thing.”
Janko also acts as a liaison between the police department and school district.
“We also are just a resource for the staff and students, if they have any questions or concerns about anything that might be related to the law or any decision making about the law,” she said.
Janko said she does not get involved with school discipline.
