LPD sells police dog to departing officer

Lebanon Police Department plans to go without a police dog for the near future.

At Monday night’s City Council meeting, the Council approved selling the current police K9 Zidane, to Officer Rodney Van Sickle who has been the animal’s handler since it was acquired by the department. Van Sickle is leaving the department effective June 26.

Police Chief Bryan Arnold said the city had access to the the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office’s dog and handler if needed.
