Lebanon’s Police Department got to hear first hand Monday what policing was like in the town more than 60 years ago courtesy of a former officer.
Loren Mackie, 90, of Grovespring, who was a Lebanon police officer from 1955 to 1960, shared doughnuts and coffee along with stories of his law enforcement career during his visit Monday. He was given a tour of the police department building and a look at modern police vehicles.
Mackie said his time as a police officer was very different from what officers face today.
