LOWELL GENE MORGAN

Lowell Gene Morgan, 73, of Lebanon, died Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Lebanon.

He was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Lebanon, Mo. to Charles Oscar and Vertress Jeffries Morgan.

On June 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann “Becky’’ King.

Lowell is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles I. Morgan; two sisters, Vonda Oldham and Anna Marie Morgan; two nephews, Jerry Neil and Jason Morgan; a sister-in-law, Janice Morgan and his father-in-law, Jim King.

He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1967. Following graduation he was employed with Laclede Metal for several years before he became self-employed as owner and operator of Morgan Construction. He served as Laclede County Commissioner from 1999 until 2006.

Lowell was saved on May 1, 1974. He was a faithful and active member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for many years, serving as Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.

He is survived by his wife Becky; his sister, Deidra Willis and her husband Mike of Poplar Bluff; brothers, Jim Morgan and his wife Sue; Jerry Morgan; his twin brother, Leo Morgan and his wife Jan; twin brothers, Mitch Morgan and his wife Charlene; Mike Morgan, and Doug Morgan and his wife Tina, all of Lebanon; his mother-in-law, JoAnn King of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear church family and friends.

Funeral services for Lowell Morgan will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Elder Jerry Crain and Elder Dennis Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation for Lowell will begin at noon Monday prior to his service at 2 p.m. at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
