COVID-19 has had a huge adverse effect on the economy, but one Lebanon manufacture says the pandemic has actually boosted its sales. Brunswick Corporation, maker of Lowe Boats, says that throughout the pandemic, boat sales have increased as consumers look for safe, social-distanced activities. Brunswick says it is using the increased sales as an opportunity to create jobs in the community. According to General Manager Greg Falkner, Brunswick Corporation’s Lebanon operation, which manufactures Lowe Boats, is hiring at a rapid pace to help meet customer demand. In January alone, they’ve hired 18 positions and in February they were looking to hire another 20 people. Falkner said that overall the boating industry has seen a “huge boom” in sales.
