Lorna Martina (Sampson) Plavnick, 85, of Marshfield was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Springfield to Fern Samuel “Cotton’’ Sampson and Mary Christine (Culver) Sampson and died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

She is survived by her husband Paul; two children, Rev. W. Scott and wife Anita Plavnick of Mississauga, Ontario and Laura Wellinghoff and husband Rev. Paul of Eminence; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom Sampson of Hartville, JR Sampson of Carthage, Jim Sampson of Hartville and Jack Sampson of Seymour; three sisters, Sonja Iris (Sampson) Nimmo of Kansas City, Naomi Joyce (Sampson) Bridges of Blue Springs, and Jan (Sampson) Buttram of Conway.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. in Marshfield. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Hartville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions can be made to a memorial fund in Martina’s name in care of Fraker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, Mo. 65706.
