Lois Evelyn Payne, 80, of Grovespring, Mo., died Thursday, July 9, 2026, in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born June 2, 1946, in Grovespring, Mo. to Clyde Calvin and Hattie Nadine Nelson Simmons.

On May 9, 1964, she was united in marriage to Bobby Wayne Payne.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband Bobby Wayne Payne; and a grandson, Colby Payne.

Lois attended Mt. Olive School, near Grovespring, Mo. After marriage, she was employed as a seamstress for H.D. Lee for many years. She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, watching westerns, and listening to music. Elvis music was her favorite. She enjoyed attending Mission Freewill Baptist Church and loved her church family. However, she treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her children, Lesa Uder (Dan) of Lebanon, Mo., Bobby Payne (Maxi), Kevin Payne (Crystal Thompson) and Chris Payne (Audra) all of Grovespring, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Payne (John) of Lebanon, Mo. and Inetta Davis (Dale) of Grovespring, Mo.; her brother, Don Andrews of Lebanon, Mo.; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Lois Evelyn Payne were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Dan Uder officiating. Burial will be in McBride Cemetery.

Visitation for Lois began at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2026, until service time at 11:00 a.m., at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
