Les began his life long career in the automotive industry in 1956 at Earl Johnson Chevrolet in Peoria in the truck service department. His knowledge in Chevrolet trucks made him the “go to guy” for mechanics in the area to seek out his opinion and diagnostic knowledge. Les was the first person in Peoria to earn his Automotive Service of Excellence Master Truck Technician certification and Les managed the truck service department. He retired from the company in 2000, which was now Green Chevrolet. Les was proud to have mentored so many mechanics and service associates throughout his long and rewarding career. He knew Chevrolet trucks inside and out and had a great appreciation for the brand.
Les followed the Catholic faith and was a member at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was also active with the Knights of Columbus in Lebanon.
He enjoyed collecting antique watches and knives and was a big NASCAR fan. Les also liked riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved his family most of all. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and looked forward to having everyone together whenever possible.
Words cannot adequately express the impact Les has had on the lives of his family and so many others. His memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
