Lebanon’s own Clint Smith has set out to achieve a goal of his since he was a kid. Run in the Boston Marathon.
With the support of his family and friends, Smith will participate in the 125th Annual Boston Marathon on Monday, October 11.
The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world's best-known road racing events. Smith, a wrestling coach on the LHS staff, talked to the LCR about his training and dreams of running in the famous marathon.
“I remember seeing the Boston Marathon on TV when I was little, maybe five or six years old,” he said. “I wasn't very athletic or even thought running looked that fun, but I was very inspired at how tough they looked, how fun the atmosphere was, and how emotional it seemed to be. I would say that I've wanted to do it since I was five or six. Every year since, I have constantly been reminded of just what an incredible event it was.
