The Lebanon High School wrestling team finished their 2021-22 dual season with a 16-3 record after defeating the Nixa Eagles on Wednesday night, 40-31.

Lebanon started off the match with three straight pins from Micah Perryman (106 pounds), Brice Helmig (113 pounds), and Jonathon Perryman (120 pounds) to jump out to an 18-0 lead.

Nixa didn’t roll over, though, with Zan Fuggit (126 pounds) pinning Lebanon’s Davis Joiner and Nixa’s Peyton Moore, defeating Andrew Bowling (132 pounds) by a score of 9-1 to make the score 18-10.

Taydem Johnson (138 pounds) beat Aidan Ward 12-2, and senior Bo Rosen (145 pounds) was able to stick Dylan Webster with 17 seconds remaining in the match to extend the lead to 28-10.

Jax Glendenning (160 pounds) stuck Logan Elmer after losing to Elmer earlier in the season to put the match away. Cade Muscia (182 pounds) was also victorious over Avry Rutherford via pin in the first period.

Lebanon JV winners included: Devan Dame (120 pounds), Bodee O’Neil (132 pounds), Josiah Perryman (145 pounds), Nick Allen (152 pounds), Baylor Smith (152 pounds), Walker Smith (170 pounds), Dalyn Clevenger (195 pounds), and Elijah Elliott (220 pounds).

The JV team was scheduled to wrestle at the JV Ozark Conference tournament on Friday in Springfield, while the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams will compete today at the varsity Ozark Conference tournament at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

Senior Kaylyn Rogers will look to become the first girls’ wrestler to become a four-time Ozark Conference champion.
