Fort Leonard Wood soldiers arrived at the Cowan Civic Center ready for holiday fun during Thursday’s Rock the Block event.
As part of Fort Leonard Wood’s Holiday Block Leave, soldiers have come to Lebanon since 2019 to enjoy a day of activities. Soldiers arrived a little after 11 a.m. to a crowd of public officials and community members waving small flags in greeting and to a large American flag hoisted above them by a firetruck.
The city welcomed the group inside the center’s auditorium, where Mayor Jared Carr greeted and thanked the group for their service.
“On behalf of the 15,000, more than 15,000 people that I represent in the community of Lebanon, welcome, and thank each and every one of you,” Carr said.
