Lebanon soccer defeats Hillcrest on Senior Night

To cap off their regular season, the Lebanon High School girls’ soccer team handily defeated the Hillcrest Hornets 5-1 on Thursday night.

During halftime, the team honored its five seniors, including Taylor Miller, Jordan Denson, Regan Hathaway, Amanda DeWitt, and Alyson Johnson. After missing their entire junior year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, head coach Matt Jernigan was glad to have them back for one last season.

“I’m just glad they stuck it out,” he said. “Last year, not being able to play and a lot of stuff going on with COVID, that would be tough on anyone. We are glad they are out here competing each day, and they have done a lot for this program.

“Taylor is a girl that came up through our middle school program and has been great for us this year. Jordan was a move-in from Texas last year, and we wish we could’ve had her longer, but she is a leader and headed to Evangel to play college soccer.
