Lebanon snaps losing streak to El Dorado Springs

Posted

Lebanon scored 19 points in the final eight minutes of regulation en route to a 58-51 victory over the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs on Tuesday at Boswell Auditorium, snapping a ten-game losing streak that dated back to early December.

Senior Isaiah Greenwood led the Yellowjackets with 23 points. Sophomore Caleb Ray added 12 points, while Peyton Mitchell and Austin Hendrix each added in six for LHS (2-11 overall, 0-3 Ozark Conference).

“The kids absolutely did everything we asked of them,” head coach Ryan Toombs said with excitement after the win. “I thought our performance on the offensive end early helped us, and our performance on the defensive end for the whole game was the difference.”

The Bulldogs (10-8 overall) fell behind 25-17 at the half and by as many as ten in the second half before mounting a little bit of a comeback to open the fourth quarter.

El Dorado Springs went on a 6-3 run before Mitchell hit Greenwood on a back door lob, where he finished it with an authoritative dunk.

Greenwood would score again later in the game, followed by three straight points from senior Tristan Wilson to increase the lead to 50-40.

“It was our first home game in a month, and we were ready to hit shots,” stated Toombs. “Guys like Matt (Archer), Isaiah (Greenwood), Caleb (Ray), Austin (Hendrix), and Peyton (Mitchell) were all stepping up and making shots.

“It wasn’t a one-man show, and we made some good decisions.”

Lebanon made nine three-pointers in the contest while making seven out of 11 free throws.
