The new Lebanon City Council was sworn in Monday night with newly-elected Councilman and former Mayor Josh Ray taking over the Ward 3 seat previously held by LeAnn Mather.
Ray, who resigned as mayor in the wake of some controversial issues three years ago, told his fellow council members he looked forward to a new start in city government.
“What’s in the past is in the past, I did what I thought was right, I spent three years trying to come to terms with a lot of stuff, figuring out what direction I wanted to go and I’m very happy to be back up here serving my community,” he said.
