A Lebanon man who was riding his bicycle at night was killed after being hit by a vehicle at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday on Route MM, one-half mile east of Lebanon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Elizabeth L. Hendrix, 18, of Phillipsburg, the driver of a westbound 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, approached a bicycle in the westbound driving lane and was unable to see the bicycle due to the night time conditions. Hendrix struck the bicycle, ejecting the rider of the bicycle, Ronnie L. Miller, 47.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:50 p.m. by Laclede County Coroner Steve Murrell.
Hendrix was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Lebanon, with what the Highway Patrol described as minor injuries.
The Highway Patrol listed Hendrix as wearing a seat belt.
