Lebanon City Council streams meeting on Facebook

Monday night’s Lebanon City Council proceeded as scheduled, but with some modifications because of the ongoing coronavirus concerns. Attendance at the meeting was limited and it was streamed live on Facebook for the public. Councilmen and Mayor Jared Carr were seated at tables to put the needed amount of space between them. Carr read a statement on the city response to the public health crisis at the conclusion of the meeting. He said the city was following the guidelines of the Center to Disease Control and Department of Health and Human Services for dealing with the novel coronavirus. “I want to thank all of our health care professionals and first responders that assure we’ll remain a safe and prosperous community,” Carr said. “If you have not, please get your food to go at one of the many local restaurants who are going the extra mile to continue their services to our community.” Carr said the community would come out of the crisis stronger than before. “With everyone continuing to work together, we will make this happen,” he said. Councilmen also addressed the community, thanking city staff members for their efforts in dealing with the situation. The Council plans to meet again April 13, but will skip the April 2 work session and possibly the April 27 meeting, Carr said. For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
