Lebanon City Council rejects Dollar General rezoning

The Lebanon City Council Monday night voted against rezoning for a proposed Dollar General Store at North Highway 5 and Goldenwood Road. Several residents of the Goldenwood Road area spoke against the rezoning. They said the location was unsuitable because of its proximity to Atchley Park and a dangerous intersection with Highway 5. Codes Administrator Joe Berkich said the Board of Adjustment had denied a driveway variance for the store. He said Missouri Department of Transportation had granted permission for an entrance for the store off of Highway 5. For more on this story, see the LCR.
