Lady ‘Jackets win big in season opener

Posted
The Lebanon High School girls’ basketball team kicked off their 2022-23 campaign with a 73-51 victory over the Nevada Tigers on Tuesday night in Boswell Auditorium. Lebanon (1-0) is coming off a 20-win season in 2021-22 but graduated key seniors in Kori Cromer, Jocee Pettyjohn, Destiny Zimdars, Chloe Shivers, Makayah Alexander, and Selby Miller.  The Lady ‘Jackets do return All-State selection Raegan McCowan, who made her presence known quickly in front of a large crowd, shooting 12 of 22 from the field and scoring a game-high 33 points in the victory. “Raegan is the real deal,” head coach Jacky Payne said after the win. “Very few players get to coach a player like Raegan McCowan. She will do whatever it takes to win on both ends of the court. She told me at practice last week that she wanted to guard (Nevada’s) best player, so that’s her being a leader.” For more on this story see the LCR.
